HIGH WOOL PRICES.
GOOD WELLINGTON SALE. NOVEMBER RATES EXCEEDED ADVANCE ; OF -1$» PER LB. £BX HEI.BOBAJPH.-—PRESS # ASSOCJATTON.] ; '"- WELLINGTON. Sunday. The second wool - sale of the Wellington season was. continued yesterday, and buyers present represented Bradford, Bolton, France, Germany, Belgium, and Japan, as well as the New Zealand woollen mills. The public packed the gallery, and; took a great interest in the proceedings. As the sales proceeded, it was noticed that the growers' ideas of values, in many cases, were beyond the limits of the buyers, liberal as were the latter. This is an evident result of the sharp rise in the market in London and the November and December sales, followed by the good prices realised at the last Wellington. Wanganui, Napier, and Auckland series. As compared with the November prices, low crossbreds were Ad per lb. better, lambs were Id to li<i up, and superfine and medium Romney showed Id advance. Generally the sale shows a full l£d advance on the November prices. The wool was light in condition, and fairly free from seed. The local manufacturers were carried along in the rush for wool, and had to fall into line with the high rates ruling.
