ATROCITY IN CHINA.

Bandits, Jed by the notorious Lao Tangren, pealed the great wall at Likwankia in, the south-eastern Honan province, burned the houses and slaughtered the population, leaving 2000 dead and wounded. The marauders displayed Gargantuan frenzy, tying groups of townspeople together, pouring kerosense ,on them and igniting them into living torches. Tho import, which is delayed a fortnight owing to Likwankia's isolated position, declares that so great is the number of dead and disfigured ( that a vast pit has been dug for common interment. Foreign missionaries fled__the district while Tangren's followers, who are burning the mission stations, have terrorised the countryside for miles around. The chieftain announces he will kill all who oppose him.
