The question of the completion of the Kaueranga Road, , which would give a much shorter connection with Thames tliau is now available, was brought before the Minister for Public Works, -Hon. J. G. Coates, by a deputation of returned .soldier settlers at Hikuai, near Tairua, today. The Minister, who promised to consider the request, stated that it would be useless to expend small amounts on such a work. If it were to be done it would have to be taken in hand in a comprehensive manner. , It was stated that if the road'were completed, Hikuai would be within 20 miles of Thames. '■-•-
