NEW BRIDGE AT TE AROMA.
STATE SUBSIDY PROMISED.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TE AROHA. Friday. While the Hon. J. G. Coates was passing through to Thames last evening ,he was met by the Mayor, Mr. 11. Coulter, and the Deputy-Mayor, Mr. G. Hedde, who placed before him the decision of the recent conference between the Te Aroha Borough Council and the Piako County Council, that the Government should be requested to grant a £5000 subsidy toward the erection of a new traffic bridge over the Waihou River at Te Aroha. Mr. Coates promised to recommend Cabinet to grant a subsidy of £1 for £2.
