UNDEFENDED DIVORCE.
TWO PETITIONS GRANTED.
Two undefended divorce actions 'were | heard in the Supreme Court yesterday, and in each case a decree nisi, to be made absolute after three months, was granted. Desertion was the ground on which Mr. Justice Reed granted Lottie Ruth Roycroft (Mr. A. Moody) a decree against James Louis Roycroft. The parties, were married at Waihi in July, 1915, and there were two children, both since deceased. Petitioner gave evidence that her husband was addicted to drink, illtreated her, and knocked her about. Owing to his conduct she was compelled to leave him in 1919. Since then she had supported herself and had not lived with respondent. Evidence was also given by petitioner's brother. Berove Mr. Justice Stringer, Harriet "Maud Parsons (Mr. J. J. Butler sought dissolution of her marriage to William Kirby Parsons (Mr. T. H. Steadman), of Whangarei, on the ground of separation by mutual consent. Petitioner gave evidence that she and respondent were married at Kawakawa in April, 1903, and lived in the Bay of Islands district till 1913. Differences arose and they agreed to separate. Petitioner had not spoken to respondent since. There were five children of the marriage.
