F. Quinlivan would no doubt be well pleased with the manner in which his four candidates for the Auckland summer meeting shaped in their engagements at Woodvule last week. Gazeworthy scored in the Oete Handicap. Royal Diyorce notched a win and a second, and Quest a win and a third, while Scion registered a second. This form makes their EUerslie prospects look bright. This colt has done very little racing, and, as he should improve,; it will occasion no surprise to find him earning more winning brackets before very long. At one stage of his career the English-bred geldins Counter-Attack was regarded as anything but a reliable customer, but his recent form has been consistently good, and he seema to be improving with age. His success in r the Borough Handicap at Woodville on Wednesday was his third this season, while he aH also filled minor places on two occasions. - The local light-weight, L. Manson, intends to do the Taranaki and Stratford, summer meetings in preference to remaining at Ellerslie for the summer carnival. Tanadees, who scored in the Nursery Handicap at Woodville, appears to be a very useful colt and chould credit his owner with. more wins during th& season. He is an Australian-bred gelding by Roseworthy from Burletta, hence a half-brother to that notable ' Australian performer. Radnor. V Cairo followed up his success in the Kowhfti Hack Handicap at Feilding by taking the Flying • Handicap at 4 Woodville, . and this form stamps him as. a bit superior to the average hack.
