THE EMPIRE EXHIBITION.

NEW ZEALAND FILMED.

At His Majesty's Theatre on Wednesday next, for a season of three nights, an opportunity will be given residents of Auckland to see for themselves the compilation of New Zealand's scenic wonders, that are shortly going overseas, both to the Empire Exhibition and America to attract tourists to these shores. To compress into two hours sufficient to give the onlookers a slight idea of what the Dominion has to offer the way of facilities for travel, the nature of the country, the extensive variety of her flora and fauna, or the magnificent beauty of her forests, lakes, and mountains—is no light undertaking. Mr. S. Taylor, Government cinematographer, has, during the last two years, achieved the seemingly impossible task and produced what is undoubtedly the finest collection of New Zealand films ever exhibited in this or any other country. This, coupled with the explanatory lecture by Mr. J. Winsloe, who accompanies the film on its tour, including Great Britain, U.S.A., and Denmark, makes an enjoyable evening's entertainment of a very high standard. The whole series is well compiled and fakes you quickly from one end of the Dominion to the other, from high up among - the great glaciers, showing high climbs with ropes and ice-caves, ski-ing, the wonderful West Coast and Buller Gorge, and the Franz Josef glacier, Lakes Kanieri and lanthe, together with all the famous North Island beauty spots, such as Mount Egmont, Waimungu geyser, Champagne Pools and numerous sights at Rotorua. also the silica terraces. A portion of the picture that will make a special local appeal is that showing the Tongariro National Park with the Wanganui Ski-ing Club in action. In addition to the scenic beauties, interesting glimpses of the industries of New Zealand will be shown ; the whole forming the most comprehensive picture of New Zealand. The film with the lecture occupies the whole of the programme.
