WAR MEMORIAL FUND.
APPEAL TO THE PUBLIC.
DONATIONS AT CENOTAPH.
AMOUNTS RECEIVED YESTERDAY.
The campaign for tho Auckland War Memorial Fund was continued with vigour yesterday, house-to-house collections being taken up in several districts, in addition to the amounts paid in at the cenotaph in Victoria Street West. Tho appeal should find ready support from a city which, through the war years, gave of its men and money without stint, and it is confidently hoped by the promoters of the present campaign that tho reputation so gallantly won will be maintained, now that the last of the great war appeals is being brought before the citizens of Auckland. Tho week set aside for tho campaign is now drawing to a close, and all who have deferred making their donations should take the opportunity of visiting the headquarters at tho cenotaph to-day, when the Navy League will be in charge. The Victoria League and Rotary Club were responsible for yesterday's effort, which resulted in a sum of £186 being paid in at the cenotaph, the sum -if £38 being collected in the house-to-house canvasses. The following sums were received at tho cenotaph : —
