MINISTERS' MOVEMENTS.

Sir Francis .Bell, Acting-Prime Minister and Minister ,for External Affairs, spent yesterday in „ conference with the Administrator of Western Samoa, MajorGeneral G. S. Richardson, on problems ' affecting the territory. Samoan affairs will be further discussed to-day, and on Monday Sir Francis will leave for Wellington, proceeding later vto the West Coast of the South Island, where he will attend the- Hokitika Exhibition and spend several days in the coastal district. Sir Maui Pomare, Minister for Public Health, was engaged part of yesterday in a ministerial conference with the Administrator of Western Samoa. General S. G. Richardson, and devoted the. vre- . mainder of the day to departmental affairs, including conferences with Dr. J. Collins,' resident medical officer at Niue, and Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Reeves, teachers in charge of the main Government school at Tufukia, Niue, The Minister will receive a deputation at 10 a.m. to-day in connection with the Takapuna water supply at the ministerial rooms, Customs Buildings. During the week-end he will probably puy a visit of inspection to the Auckland Hospital and the Costley Home. On Monday the Minister will go to the King Country to inspect the mental hospital' and farm at Tokanui, returning to Auckland on the following day. After a short visit to Whangarei, Sir M<uh Pomare -will leave for Wellington next Friday. The Bay of Plenty tour of the Eons. W. Nosworthy, Minister for Agriculture, and Acting-Minister for Lands, and the Hon. R. F. Bollard, Minister for Internal Affairs, was "ontinued yesterday. The party left T&uranga and preceded to Te Puke across the Waihi swamp ant? on to Matata. The next stage of the journey was across the Eangitaiki Plains, a stop being made at Thornton. Thence the party proceeded to Whakatanc. To-day the Ministers will go to Taneatua and Opotiki, and on Sunday they will go through the Motu track to Gisbome. The Hon. J. G. Coates, Minister for . Public Works. arrived at Coromandel yesterday from Thames, and made a tour of the district. He will visit Mercury Bay to-day. .
