PRESENTATION.

MR. KEARY'S RETIREMENT.

Th« presentation of silver inkstand has been made to Mr. H. Keary, superintendent of telegraphs at Auckland, upon his retirement, by the staff of the chief telegraph office. Mr. Williams, act-ing-superintendent, wished Mr. Keary every happiness and referred appreciatively to his service, more particularly in regard to the two years during which he had been superintendent in this city. Mr. Keary, in thanking the staff, said the responsibilities of his position in Auckland had been considerably lightened by the ever-ready support that had been accorded him by controlling officers and by the staff generally. Mr. S. E. Coleman, who has resigned his position as manager of the hardware department of Mason, Struthers and Company, Limited, was the recipient of a presentation from the company and staff yesterday.
