PLANS FOR CELEBRATION.

Friday. • Arrangements for the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the foundation:• of Hamilton were discussed at a meeting of a special ommittee convened by the! Hamilton Borough Council and held lastevening. The Mayor, Mr. J. R. Fow, presided. It was decided to hold." the. diamond jubilee celebrations in conjunction with" the Waikato Winter Shaw. Many-suggestions were received, including the entertainment of veterans, a fireworks display and a procession. ■/: A It was decided to. hold a commeinoraV taon service on the first day of the . show on the river bank, where . the first sol« diers landed in the district 60 years ago. The band and Choral Society will bo invited to assist. Mr. M. Schofield reelected secretary of the executive committee appointed to arrange for finance! and derails. J: , :.
