Although the season was rather later than usual in opening, the returns are now well above last year's. Thu number of suppliers to date is 650, and the herds being milked range from one to 160. The weekly output of butter is at present averaging 2600 boxes. The largest output on any one day ** 428 boxes, against 391 last rear. The total output is expected to reach 2000 tons, as against 1500 tons. last year, and the total pay-out something over £250,000. The factory employs nearly 50 hands, and in addition to this has about 20 contractors conveying cream to boats and the railhead.
