.WOMAN IN TAXI-CAB.
KILLED BY HER LOVER.
A. and N.Z. ij-.', LONDON, Nov 20. - At the inquest into the death of Mrs Ethel Howard, who was found dead in a taxi-cab with her throat wit, a verdict of wilful murder against George Igguldeu was returned. ' .'
The registrar of marriages gave evidence that 'Mrs. Howard, on October 31. in the name of Ireland, gave notice that she intended, marrying Norman Haslett. Her maiden name was Sandfordmee. She produced papers showing that her husband divorced her and that the decree was made absolute on January 1. Both parties must have resided in England when the divorce was granted.
The police read Iggulden's voluntary statement, which showed that he met the woman through an advertisement eight weeks ago. He continued 'to visit her and became fond of her. He learned that she married Ireland in New Zealand when she was 19, that she had been most unhappy ■with him, and that her husband divorced her. -'- >• " •-"'.••'• ~
Describing the woman's death, Iggulden said that when he entered the taxi, the woman t&id repeatedly: " I would be happy to dio now if the children were here." " I was cuddling and kissing her when I seemed to lose control of myself, took a razor from my pocket, and/ cut her throat with one slash. I then realised the seriousness of my deed, and told the driver to go to the nearest police station."
