; The Minister, in charge of scenery preservation wrote-, that it had been found inadvisable .to vest scenic reserves iin local I authorities for:-all time, but the- council could "-■ be satisfied that as < long as it ■ administered Kauri Park satiwrHorily, from a scenic view it would not be disturbed in, its : tenure at the end of the three years for which the council was appointed a board,- <> £; The Birkenhead Motor-bus Company is to' be asked ?to contribute to. Ihe cosi of concreting the roadway at the wharf approach for a turn-table for the; buses. : ■$ The analysis of water taken from the pumping station on behalf ;of the Lake Takapuna Board of Control 'was' reported as' satisfactory, ' coli . being ; absent. •f' '-. Mr.' A. G. Jarrett; requested the: councillio expend '£70 in making ; the ' approach to Island Bay wharf. " It was resolved that the request be complied with provided the Harbour ; Board undertakes to ; extend the wharf to deep water. '■ The town clerk stated ' that the total value of buildings for which permits had been granted this year was £32.726. ;J Two additional permits were pi-anted, the cost of the buildings being estimated at £1100.
