The contract has been let for the erection of a nurses', home in conjunction with the Whangarei /Hospital. ' The structure will be of two storeys in brick and concrete. Separate quarters are provided for matrons, sisters, and nurses, each section having their own sitting rooms and appointments. There will be 48 beds in all. fetch portion has its loggias and t terraces on the ground floor and balconies on the first floor. The plans provide for an additional storey when necessary. The contract price is £12.460. lhe architects are Messrs. Massey, Hyland, and Phillips.
