Further consideration was given at yesterday's meeting of ,\ the Waipa County Council to the request made a month ago by borough ratepayers north of the Mangahoe stream, for inclusion in the Waipa County. The county chairman, Mr. D. S. It was agreed that the prayers of the petitioners - be acceded to
The advisability of forming a drainage board to deal with the drains in the Reynolds Settlement, Pukekura, wa referred to Mr. J. S. Fisher, who said that the soldier settlers there were not cleaning out the drains, in fact, he believed several of the settlers had blocked the drains in places to provide drinking places for stock. The county roads were thereby damaged. At the suggestion of the riding member, the county engineer was instructed to interview the Crown lands commissioner on the matter. Notification was received that the chairman. Mr. D. S. Reid. has been appointed representative of the council on the Main Highways Board for No. 2 area.
The council decided to support the Auckland City Council's request for reciprocal cancellation of motor drivers' licenses in cases of misconduct.
