New Zealand items are many and varied. They include the opening of the yachting season in "Auckland the GovernorGeneral's official visit to H.M.S. Chatham -exhibition of fancy diving by Mr. G. W. W. Cozens at Parnell Baths; 'the pupils anl lady teachers of Waikino school who were in class when the recent shocking tragedy occurred; a striking view of the huge number of motor-cars parked by visitors in the Show Grounds at Christchurch, on People's Day; the champion Jersey cow of Australia * and . New Zealand; unveiling of' Wanganui's ; war memorial; Armistice Day at Hastings; fend whaling at.Te Kaha, ; Bay of Plenty. 7a There is a futher series of photographs taken in Melbourne during the serious riots which followed a strike of the police; force, commencing on November 4. The camera record shows city shops smashed and looted by bands of rioters, -with special constables endeavouring to restore Jaw and order. Artistically arranged, the whole combines to make a real budget of news by photography. Portraits include those of the party leaders in the*forthcoming general election in Great Britain, while among many further events and misadventures are:—Getting back to normal after the earthquakes in Japan; the assassination of the Italian military mission at Janina; memorial to the late Mr. James' Calvin, M.P., at Westport; the Carpentier-Beckett fight; workers' dwellings in course of construction at Orev Lynn; Maori children who recently performed in a Japanese operetta at Waionatatini; and the successful queen carnival at Hastings West.
