PURCHASE OF PAPYRUS.
£35,000 SAID TO BE PAID. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 9.5 p.m.) LONDON. Nov. 5. Papyrus has been purchased by Mr. J. B. ITornung, a patron of Mr. Jarvis' stable, where Papyrus was trained. The price has not been announced, but the Daily Express understands that Mr. Hornung paid about. £35,000. Papyrus will remain in Mr. Jan-is' stable to fulfil his racing engagements in 1924, including the Jockey Club Stakes, the Eclipse Stakes, and the Ascot Gold Gup, after which he will go to the stud.
