BRITISH TARIFF REFORM
DETAILED INVESTIGATION. THE NATION TO DECIDE. Sun. LONDON, Nov. i. Mr. Neville Chamberlain, Chancellor of the Exchequer, speaking at Cardiff, referred to the Government's proposal of a general tariff for manufactured goods. He said an advisory committee would be appointed immediately to interview representatives of different industries, and only after collecting all information would the Government be able to frame a general tariff. • Ho intimated that such proposals would be submitted for decision of the country before next winter.
