[BY TELEGRAM. —OWN CORRESPONDENT] KUMEU. Saturday. A successful poster ball was held under the auspices of the Kumeu Lawn Tennis Club on Friday evening. The judging of the costumes, which wero of a very creditable order, was done by ballot. There was the keenest competition among the ladies. Miss F. Boucher (butterfly lady), received the premier honours, with Mrs. Bonchevsky (Glaxo baby), and Mrs Smith (Kodak camera), only one vote behind. On the gentlemen's side Mr. Fernyhough, representing Waitemata Dairy Factory, took the prize. The first high-grade Ayrshire bull to be brought into this district arrived from the South this week. Mr. Foulds, the owner, is justly proud of his purchase.
