SAVDTUST AND SHAVING ALIGHT.
VERY LITTLE DAMAGE DONE. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT J TE AROHA. Sunday. A second outbreak of fire occurred yesterday afternoon, when tho sawdust and shavings dump at Mr. J. N. Woods' timber yard was found to be alight. The brigade was promptly on the spot, and very little damage was done. BLUEJACKETS ASSIST BRIGADE. LYTTELTON SHOT'S DESTROYED. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH. Sunday. Three shops in London Street, Lyttelton, owned by Mr. J. H. Collins, 'were destroyed by fire last night. Two of the shops were occupied by Mr. Collins as a furniture and fancy goods shop respectively, r-d the third was occupied by Mr. Blackler, boot repairer. Smart work by the fire brigade, assisted by a capable naval detachment from H.M.S. Laburnum, prevented more serious consequence. The insurances are not available.
