The naval board of inquiry into the wreck of seven United States destroyers off the coast of California on September 8 found that«the disaster was due to bad judgment and faulty navigation by Squadron-Commander E. H. Watson, Lieutenant-Commander Hunger, and Lieutenant Blodgett, navigator of the Delphi. The officers will be tried by court-marital.
