DISSENSION IN BERLIN.

DEMANDS OP " SOCIALISTS. ACTION AGAINST BAVARIA. ULTIMATUM TO CHANCELLOR By Telegraph— Association— Router. : BEBLIN, Nov. 1 The political crisis has become acute owing to the submission of: a series of demands to Dr. Stresemann by the Socialist Parliamentary Party after a conference which lasted seven hours. A resolution was carried declaring that the party would only remain in the •Coalition if the following requests were conceded :— (1) Abolition of the state of emergency. (2) Adoption by the Government of stronger measures against Bavaria. (3) Maintenance of order in Saxony to be entrusted to Che police, and the immediate dismissal of Nationalists who recently joined the Reichswehr. Another resolution dealt with the stabilisation of currency and the compulsory sale of foodstuffs by farmers. A re-, ply is required by to-morrow. The Government has decided to reduce the number of State officials by 25 per cent, in -'the interests of economy. WRITING OFF MARKS: SIX CYPHERS CANCELLED. (Received 9.5 p.m.) Renter. BERLIN, Not. 1. A new currency regulation instructs bauks to cancel the last six figures in all accounts. Thus a new unit is created equivalent to 1,000,000 marks. The reason adduced for the change is thati the columns in bank books are not largo enough to accommodate the string of noughts. SOVIET SEEKING PROFIT. INCITEMENT OF COMMUNISTS. Times. LONDON, Not. 1. The Riga correspondent of th<J Times says that Russia is watching Germany like a hawk. * The Soviet political bureau concludes that a rising in Germany l:d by the CommuiiislLs is inevitable, and las been planning accordingly. German Communists are receiving instruction direct from Moscow and agitators are being lavishly supplied with money. Meetings of , workmen throughout Russia have been ordered. Army chiefs met recently and decided on immediate active employment of the Red Army to settle the German question and, if necessary, keep Poland employed. The mobilisation and training of territorials last week caused rumours that war was imminent, but spies sent to Poland returned with news that Poland is well prepared for war, and this is having a c|uieting effect on the masses, who do not, want to act rashly. l
