In Government securities : the only . issues quoted ; were New; Zealand War Loans, 1938, which were on offer at £97 ss, and Soldiers Loan Inscribed Stock at £101 15a, with no brijirs responding. in either case. Milne and Choyce ; debentures changed hands at £100, lata sellers quoting £101, with no further buyers. In banks New Zealands (new issue), were sought at 495, holders asking 503 Nationals of New Zealand were on offer at £6 18s 6d, New South Wales at £41 10s and Unions of Australia at £15, with no buying response. In insurances Nationals had sale at 775, buyers closing at 76s 6d, sellers ,77s 9d. New Zealands at 30s were sought at 295. There was inquiry for South British at 39s 3d, 'sellers asking . 40s 6d. There was a sal© of Auckland Gas (new issue) at 3s 6d, more being available at that figure, buyers 3s 4d. In timber Kauris were done at 28s 3d, late sellers quoting 28s 9d, ' buyers 28s. In miscellaneous lines Wilsons Ceinenfs were sold at 28s 3d, .at which figure more were on offer, buyers 28s. In ■ mining Grand Junctions changed, hands at ss, late sellers 5s 2d, buyers 5s Id. Waihis .at 26s 6d were "*• wanted at 265. There was a sale of New Waiotahis (contrib.) at 6d, buyers closing at s£d, sellers Bd. The following sales took place — National Insurance, 775; Auckland C.is (now issue), 3s 6d ; Kauri Timber. 28s 3d ; Milne and Choyce debentures, £100; Wilsons Cement, 28s 3d; Waihi Grand Junction, ss; New Waiotahi (contrib.), 6d.
