The many people who were passing though Panama Street last evening about 5 o'clock, : were? attracted toward the scene of a struggle between two men, who wrestled and fought dangerously close to j a shop window. ... When Constable McJennett, who was' in plain clothes, arrived he was able to seizei"one' off the, men but on learning that the other man who had decamped down the street, was "wanted,' 5 he gave chase. : A civilian seized the fugitive, arid'; detained : > him until the arrival of the officer, when : he was, handcuffed and placed under arrest . The man name, when he was charged before Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M., at the Magistrate s Court with indecently assault ing a male at ■ Eastbourne last month, was - stated . to ■■ .be Arthur Everett/ a ship's steward. The chief-detective explained that the accused, since his .arrest, either had gone mad -or was feigning; insanity, and a remand for medical treatment until next Friday was granted. • '
