Saturday..; Local orchardists are confidently looking forward to a good season, and hope for better financial returns than they had last year. Spraying outfits ''have been busy as weather has permitted, the local growers being keen after growing only dean fruit. There is a general feeling of confidence in tha future of the ■ district, and Several new houses are being erected, while other residents are having additions made to their houses, and an up-to-date store is in course of construction.. Many new settlers have taken up permanent residence of late. .-'• '■', A successful euchre ' party was held in the Huapai school building this evening; the proceeds are to be devoted to the Church of England building fund.
