ROAD BOARD MEETING.

'A favourable report regarding the ' water I supply, of the district was received r from the Auckland Hospital. The'chairman stated that it was ? the 'most? satis- . factory report that had been received if or some : time. ■ "' * . " Discussion took place on the question of the . Government demanding 5 per cent: of all - land - ; subdivisions ;.; for reserves. : }( It was decided to approach the Minister for ';', Lands on the matter, asking that, in ' :■■■ view '-pi. the large area of parks-in 'the ./district, the :5;; per cent, ? :i reserve, should not fire; insisted upon,' and also that the :..."* question of cross-roads ;' in subdivisions • should be leftvat the discretion of the ':.>,; board. ■;.'•- \ The' "i engineer's quarry :' report stated that the. cost, of metal ' .during .; the year amounted to 6s 5d a" cubic '.. yard.
