FRUIT AND 'PRODUCE.
Apples and pears both slowed a tendency to \ riso in price on the Auckland market yesterday. The ■ supply -of • the former ; was fair. " A ' shipment of : Sydney :■ fruit -is -expected ■ to-day, and V another of i Island fruit to-morrow.. ' '', "• ■>-•.-•_- ,- Delicious apples realised from 10s 1 to; 14s a case; Stunners, from 7a 6d tolOs 6d; Doughertys., from 6s to 83 , 6d: ■' Pigeonettes, from 5s 6d to 6s 6d; and cookers, from ,6a to 7s. Barry pears realised . from 12s to 14s, while cooking pears . Bold at; from 6s :to 63 6d. 'Ripe bananas ;■, were : difficult ito obtain, at ' from 27s >to 30s. - The sale for lemons was dull, beat, graded, fetching up to 15s, while poorer lines sold -at from 6s to Bs. FIELD PRODUCE. Potatoes sold at from 18s to 14s a cwt.; Australian onions, from 7s to, 8s:. and swede turnips, from 7s to : 9s. American onions realised 22s 6d for crate of lOfllb. Cabbages brought from 5s to 16s a sack,' and cauliflowers, from "7s to. 12s 6d. Parsnips., carrots, beet, and turnips sold at from 9d to Is 9d a dozen, lettuce from 6d to 2s 3d, rhubarb from 3s 6d to 6s, and hothouse cucumbers from 10s to 14s €d a dozen. Bsrpis were again in good supply, hen eggs fetching from Is 2d to Is 2Jd a, dozen, and duck eggs ■ from Is to Is Id. Farmers butter brought from Is 2d to Is 4d a pound.

POTATOES AGAIN EASIER.

Potatoes are not being inquired for from Auckland for the time being, supplies .that have gone North of late apparently meeting immediate requirements _ New potatoes are now available. in the North, but at too high a price to cause much demand. There is a further casing on -week-end prices, a material result: of lack of orders and also of ■ the rapid rise of the . week before. Some f.o.b.s.i. business has been done at £11 10s. Farmers in the meantime are offering very few. The Navua left yesterday with 2GOO aaoks, and the Atua. is due to 6ail about Saturday, but with a small consignment. The Kornata follows next Tuesday or Wednesday. :;' Oats are mooting with good inquiry, mostly for the North Island, and values are from 2s 8d to 2s 9d to farmers. Advice has been received by the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Co., >■ Ltd .V from its London manager, Mr. J. B. Wright, that the butter .. position remains quietly firm. The company's butter was priced at 2025. and Danish 2063. The cheese position was slightly weaker, with white at \ l2os, coloured 1225, and Canadian 1183 c.i.f. The casein market was r firm, but quiet. New Zealand was quoted at £76 per ton. Satis* factory .prices were being realised for milk powder, the figures being £62 per ton, and £130 per ton. for whole milk powder.
