COMIC OPERA PERFORMED. [BS TELEGRAPH. — CORRESPONDENT ] : . OTOROHANGA. Monday. Gilbert and Sullivan's comic opera, "H.M.S. Pinafore," was given on Thursday night in the Town Ha.ll by the Otorohanga Operatic Society. The hall was packed to the doors. The total. receipts were nearly £80. The work of training the chorus was carried out by Mrs. Keith Macpherson; Mrs. A. E. Cooke acted as : pianiste, and also 'trained and led the orchestra, and Mr. J. A. Sparks _ was stage manager. Miss . Phyllys Atkinson took the part of Josephine; Mrs. A. Bell, Buttercup; Mrs. F. YeOj Cousin Hebe; Mr. Frank Adeano, of-Auckland, ..Ralph' Buckstead; Mr. 0. J. Jellie. Sir Joseph Porter ;' Mr. W. Heald, Captain Corcoran; Mr. W. A. Henderson, Dick Deadeye; and Mr. H. Henderson was the Boatswain. Master Kenneth Cameron, a boy of nine, was the Midshipmite. and . a chorus of 12 ladies and 12. seamen gave a finished performance. "'■;
