THAMES HARBOUR BOARD.
PAEROA'S J REPRESENTATIVE. [BY TELEGKAPH.—OWSr COttBiSPONDENT.] THAMES, Wednesday. The Thames Harbour Board last : night received a communication from Mr. T. W. Rhodes, M, p., advising the board that the amended Harbour Bill had been finally ■ passed, and also ''' the ,'i alteration to the, personnel .of the board, increasing the membership, to 10. Paeroa Borough was now entitled to ' a representative. Considerable dissatisfaction was. expressed by -the members- at this alteration having been made without the board 're-' ceiving any s;: iiltimation. The '■■ position now.was that Paeroa Borough, ; with 'a valuation; 0fU£365,8<W,; had ■; been ■':,: given : the right to ca £ separate member,'■ while Hauraki Plains, ;; with a valuation of £1,516,300, . had to. share two r; members with the Thames and Ohinemuri Counties. • The board expressed satisfaction at the passing of the Bill, and carried a unanimous i vote of appreciation . to the member for. the district. Mr. T. W. Rhodes, for his successful-efforts in.; promoting it,, and to the Hon. J. P. Campbell for- piloting it through the ', Upper House. ■ ; "•'■*
