FIRE AT NGONGOTAHA.
OUTBREAK IN MILL. PROMPT ACTION BY STAFF. ■« ■ % \ ;■ A fire occurred about midnight on Tues-t I -day at the National , .■ Timber ' Company's sawmill at Ngongotaha* near' Rotor Ittook place in the planing shed, and was discovered at 10 minutes past twelve o'clock by two" of the employees, George Reihana and Martin Roto, one of whom promptly blew the alarm on the steam whistle, while the other aroused Mr. B. O'Hare of the company's staff. The men employed at the mill' quickly assembled, << together with a; number of ; other residents, and set to work energetic-; ally to fight 'the fire. . A bucket brigado; headed ;by \ Mr. J ; \ !>.'.;, Robertson,, passed /water; from ->;the:?, lake, 'and after about three-quarters of ah' hour all danger, was over.
