NEW LYNN TOWN BOARD.
GAS MAINS EXTENSION. ■ 1 The New Lynn Town Board met. on Monday. Mr. A. J. Thorn presided, and there were also present :—Messrs. G. Law. son, S. Wilding, A. Taylor, E. Stacey, and H. Green. ■/".:,,;- Some discussion took place regarding the extension of gas mains in the district. Mr. Green reported having interviewed a number. of prospective consumers, and the Auckland Gas Company is to be written to asking for a further report. A ratepayer asked to be given the permanent levels of a footpath, but it transpired • that there was not a plan showing permanent levels of, roads and footpaths in New Lynn. The ratepayer was granted permission ,to make., an approach to his property i n conformity with the existing road.. The medical officer of health wrote regarding. St._ Thomas' Hall, recommending that a notice be served on the persons in authority ' that certain sanitary work be done. The Pall Committee is to be asked to consider providing a septic tank. ■':..■■';>•■:• -~ ." . Mr. Hardti and others wrote requesting that a footpath be formed on the left side of Titirangi Road. It was stated that'there was a good footpath on the opposite side of the road. If ratepayers wanted footpaths on both sides of every road a special loan would have to be raised.
