WRATHFUL DOCKERS.
LEADERS HOWLED DOWN. ACCUSED OF TREACHERY. DEMONSTRATION OF CONTEMPT. By Telegraph Press Association —CopvnshtA. and- N.Z. LONDON, July i«. Mr.. H. Gosling, M.P., and Mr. Bevan, of the Transport., 'Workers' Union, were howled down by 5000 dockers when they attempted to put the union's case before the meeting. . As soon as these two leaders mounted the platform the crowd ' " booed " . and cried: "Traitors! Swine! Cowards! You have sold us!" Unofficial leaders thereupon called the dockers to show contempt for the leaders by leaving the hall, which they did, only Mr. Gosling and Mr. Bevan remaining. ' These leaders were : greatly affected by the treatment. Mr." Bevan said he would make another effort to convince the men.
