As soon as these two leaders mounted the platform the crowd ' " booed " . and cried: "Traitors! Swine! Cowards! You have sold us!" Unofficial leaders thereupon called the dockers to show contempt for the leaders by leaving the hall, which they did, only Mr. Gosling and Mr. Bevan remaining. ' These leaders were : greatly affected by the treatment. Mr." Bevan said he would make another effort to convince the men.
