CONSTABLE'S LEG BROKEN.

A sensation : was - caused -in the : mam street of Te Aroha this afternoon =when a scuffle took: place between Constable Monson and -a' pedestrian. -, ' - ~ It is stated that . the constable spoke to the man. when he was attacked violently. The constable was thrown and lis right leg was 'broken. He was _ conveyed to the police station, where the injured limb .was dressed. ' As there is no ' other constable ' on dutv in To Aroha, no arrest has yet - been made. A constable was summoned from Paeroa, and in due course arrested :his man, who i gave . considerable trouble, necessitating the assistance; of a number of spectators. : : v ; ■ v : ;:; ■'.Yl U
