July 21. .Yorkshire now heads the county cricket championship list with a percentage of 88.42, followed by Nottinghamshire, 87.64 ; Surrey- 63.75 ; ' Sussex,' 61.71 ; Kent, 61.11; Hampshire, 60; Lancashire, 58.88. Yorkshire, 376, beat Leicester, 71 runs. Waddingham took four wickets for 25 runs, and one for 32. ; Kent, 180 and 233, beat Somerset, 195. Freeman took seven wickets for 37, and one for 15. - Sussex,, 259 and : 169, draw with > Notts, 294. • ;;tLancashire, 347 and 29 for no loss, beat Northants, 174 and 201. ( A 'An interesting feature of the cricket season is the tour of a team from the West Indies,. including several black's, who have displayed surprisingly good form. So far they have played 17 matches, and won eight, including Sussex, Oxford, Essex and Warwickshire, , lost four (Cambridge, Hampshire, Middlesex and Lancashire), and -drawn five,' including Mavylebone, Notts and Leicestershire. Gentlemen had declared their first innings closed 'at 451 for nine wickets, and Players were out for 228. They batted very cautiously.
