PAPAROA. Thursday.; ■ The Otamatea County Council met yesterday, Mfc. W. Littin presiding. The treasurer's report showed that claims made on the Government for grants for expenditure totalled £5154, the amount actually received being £2923. The county fund showed a credit of £861, and the loan fund account a credit of £:2287. : -.-. The engineer reported that he had made a thorough inspection of the main road leading westward from Faparoa Valley Railway Station to the Northern Wairoa river, in conjunction with the Government engineer. The estimated cost of re fiairs and formation was £4560, and metaling £36,880, no allowance being made for bridges and culverts. \ Several bridges were in a dangerous condition and urgently needed renewing.
