POLITICAL MAJORITY.
MR. T. K. SIDEY HONOURED,
[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] • - DUNEDIN, Tuesday. ■ A complimentary social tendered Mr. T. K. Sidey, M.P. for Dunedin South, by his constituents on the attainment of his political majority, "v.as held to-night. Among those present were the Leader of the Opposition. Mr. T. M. Wilford, Messrs. A. Macpherson, J. Horn, R. Masters, E. A. Ransom, P. R. de la Perelle, M.P.'s, and the Hon. M. Cohen, M.L.C. The Mayor, Mr. Tapley, pre-'' sided. The principal speakers were Messrs. Wilford and Macpherson, both of whom received flattering receptions. They paid warm tributes to the guest of the evening. Mr. Sidey was presented with an illuminated address, signed by his committee, on behalf of his constituents. The address bore testimony to his faithful- record as a member of Parliament and representative of the district for 21 years. Mrs. Sidey was presented by Mr. Sidey's ladies' committee with a pair of greenstone carver rests. The president of the Southern Football Club, with which Mr. Sidey has been associated for 27 years, presented him, on behalf of the club, with a small gold football.
