ARRANGEMENTS FOR ISSUE.
TST TELEGRAPH.-— CORRESPONDENT.] WELLINGTON. Tuesday. The .gramophone records of tho King's Empire Day message to the school children of the Dominions will not reach New Zealand in time for the Empire Day celebrations. So far . there appears to be no certainty concerning the date of their arrival. The educational authorities hope, however, that if it is, impossible for them to have the records distributed to the schools about the date of the King's Birthday (June 3), they may be able to distribute them before i the birthday< of the Prince of Wales (June 23), which could be fittingly celebrated by the delivery of His Majesty's message. "; ';, _•' ';". ; ; ■,' ~ .v--The records . are double-sided, 5] one eido bearing .the Royal message, and the other the • National Anthem, played ,by the band of . the Coldstream Guards. They will be distributed by a Wellington firm in accordance ' with j lists compiled by the Education Department from tho applications : received from school committees and similar bodies, ; which , are to havo preference over the general public. Australia also is receiving the records too late for delivery «on Empire Day. The records will not reach the Commonwealth until the arrival of the Orsova, about June 6. It is not known yet by what vessel the New Zealand records have been shipped. ■ <
