Mr. and Mrs. Archie Clark, of Remuera, and Miss Esther Foster, left for Sydney by the Ulimaroa last week.

Mrs. T. U. Patterson, wife of SurgeonCommander Patterson, of H.M.S. Chatham, has taken a flat at Mount Eden.

Mrs. J. Banks, who has heen staying with Mrs. J. B. Macfarlane, Boslyn, Gillies Avenue, is returning to Cambridge to-day.

Mesdames K. and M. Clark and Miss A. Stubbs arc sailing by the Marama on Friday for Sydney where they intend to spend some time.

Mrs. Herbert Barsoit, diocesan secretary of the Mothers' Union, Newcastle, is on, a, visit to Auckland and is staying at Midlands, Mamikau Road. Epsom.

Mrs. Charles M. Ronshaw (nee Miss Joanne W. Beauchamp, daughter of Sir Harold Beauchamp) with her husband. Captain Renshaw, late, of the Persian Rifles, is due to arrive by the Port Kembla from London this morning.

Mrs. W. A. Evans, the first woman graduate in the British Empire, and probably in the world, returned to Wellington list week,' after attending the Canterbury College jubilee celebrations, where her presence was deemed an honour.

To-morrow afternoon a number of wounded soldiers from the Evelyn Firth Home, and children from the hospital, as well as boy scouts and girl guides, will be entertained at Government House by Her Excellency Lady Jellicoe. There will be a private screening of the film "Robin Hood."

Mr. T. M. Wilford, Leader of the Opposition, and Mrs. Wilford were the guests of their political friends and supporters at the Heretaunga Boating Club's hitll last week, the gathering being presided over by Mr. J. W. McEwan, Mayor of Petone. During the evening Mr. and Mrs. Wilford were presented with a cabinet of stainless cutlery. In reply, Mr. Wilford, in thanking the donors, said that the gift was emblematical of the 'friendship that existed between his constituents and himself, a" friendship that would never rust.
