DISAPPEARANCE OF' BALLS. Sorious complaint is being made about the number of coif balls stolen by boy* on the municipal coif link* nt Berhampore, # Wellington. It it reported to be the practice of certain boys to roam the links, whether play in in progress or not, and selecting their opportunity, pick up stray balls, which they subsequently succeed in selling at greatly reduced prices to player*. Only recently, two boys, who were suspected Of this practice, were captured, and a search revealed that one had five balls in his pockets, and the other six. The authorities are determined to put down the practice, and Court proceedings are in future to bo substituted for warnings. Ik is hoped that golfers will assist by refusing to purchase golf balls from Questionable sources.
