POPPY DAY FUNDS.
QUESTION OF DISPOSAL.
PART TO RELIEVE DISTRESS.
The executive of the '; Auckland Returned Soldiers' Association met last evening. • Mr. E. W. Inder presided. Appreciative reference was made to the work of the St. John Ambulance Association, and it was decided to make a grant toward the funds of that organisation. The usual donation toward the King's Birthday dinner to the King's Empire veterans was passed. Mention was made of the valuable work done by those who assisted on both Poppy Day and Anzac Day, and resolutions of thanks to them were carried. It was decided to recommend the committee having control of the disbursement of the Poppy Day funds that at least 20 per cent, should, if posible, be devoted toward alleviating the distress of disabled returned soldiers.
