The course dried rapidly and was never in bad order. There was a good attendance. The totalisator handled £23.954 compared with £26,777 on the corresponding day last year. Paul Dufault, Albert Cling. Taraire and Emperor did not begin well. Pedro Pronto showed the way to Jack Arrah and Lady Joan after a furlong had been covered. The order of the leaders was unchanged at the end of six furlongs. Taraire was then lying fifth. Entering the last lap, Taraire was third and Pedro Pronto died away. With three furlongs to go Jack Arrah was in the load fro*u Taraire and Lady Joan. Taraire just led Jack Arrah into the straight. The latter stopped at the distance and Taraire came homo four lengths in front of Lady Joan, with Willie Lincoln two lengths away. Grand Denver was fourth.
