KING AND POPE.

PREPARING FOR VISIT.

LONDON, May 2.

The most elaborate preparations are being made at the Vatican to receive the King and Queen. They will bo met by a guard of honour, and the Pope will await them at the Visitor's Door of the Thivne Room. '

The King and Queen will then be conducted to gilded chairs on either side of the Pope's throne. There are to be no genuflections, as the Royal visitors are Protestants. After an exchange of greetings the Pope will • invite the King and Queen to his private room, where he will present them with gifts and converse with them for half an nour. ? I
