The borough was well provided with rej creation sfrrmnd*, the total area controlled | try- the council acting as a domain board, j being 43 acres, valued at £6715. The ! revenue was; restricted. Voluntary effort* i resulted in the raising of £1156 for imi provements at Albert Park. ' ' The ratable value of the borough was £561,025. The total rates collected were £6733 9a Bd, and £134 5s 2d was outj standing. The loans advanced to the borough" up to March 31, 1923, amounted | to £75,544, the amount repaid by way of j sinking fund being £3972, and tie amount j outstanding is thus £'71.572 2» sd. j Outlining future matters that would i have to receive attention by the coan- ! cii, the Mayor mentioned municipal abat- ' toirs, name-plates at street intersections, | housing, improvement to the municipal i saleyards, water supply extension, and i improvements at the Head work*, streets and footpath construction, disposal of [ storm water, and the financing of house- < holders in connection with sewerage i fystem. : ' .
