TEETOTAL LABOUR M.P.'S.
BRITISH BELLAMY'S LOSS. How tho increased Labour representation in the House of Commons is leading to difficulties for the Kitchen Committee of the House was revealed by Dr. Alfred Salter, M.P., at a meeting of the Industrial Christian Fellowship, held for discussion of the drink problem and its remedy. " In the past few years the Kitchen Committee succeeded in making ends meet," said Dr. Salter, " but at tilt present time the committee complains that there is a very heavy loss, the simple reason being that" owing to the arrival .of 144 Labour members, three-quarters of whom are teetotallers, there is a great reduction in the sale of intoxicants. The Kitchen Committee is being compelled to consider whether in consequence of the decreased sale of alcoholic drinks it will not be forced to raise the prices of foodstuff*/*
