THE PAKURANGA HUNT.

MEET HELD YESTERDAY.

■ The Pakurang'a Hunt met yesterday at Pakuranga Hill. This was the second fixture - of the season and was well attended by followers of the hunt. The weather was scarcely ideal from a huntsman's view, the day being rather too warm and bright for scent to -lay well. Owing to a change-over taking place "with regard to the huntsman, the master. Mr. H. Bullock-Webster, has been hunting the hounds and has handled the pack, into which has recently been drafted a considerable entry of young hounds. The hunt is considerably indebted.to th fine sporting spirit displayed by the master in so willingly, undertaking the onerous duties involved.

The hounds arrived at the meet in company with, th© whipper-in. assisted by Messrs. W. Hope and S. J. Wright. The master immediately took, charge and hounds were shortly afterwards cast-off in Mr. R. Thompson's farm and worked through . the paddocks about - the homestead, where a hare was set going and hunted over a fair stretch of country, including part of Mr. M. O'Meaeher's farm, and back again into Mr. Thompson's. Although hounds appeared hot on the scent and gave tongue with accustomed vigour at times, scent seemed uncertain and the hare was eventually lost in some gone Further tuns took plaice during the afternoon, and although five different hares were put up. hounds, which worked hard, did not register a kill. The farms hunter! over were those of Messrs. A. E. Hathawav, 11. Thompson. F. and J. Roberts. J. White and M. leather.

Among those present were several parties who had motored cut. including Her Excellency Ladv Jelb'coe. the Hon. Prudence Jellicoc. Mr. and Mrs. Adean. and Captain P. P. Mundy. Among the followers were Her Excellency, on Sniper, the Hon; Prudence Jellicoe. on Billy, the master, Mr. Bullock-Webster, on Dominion, Captain Mundy on Pot Luck. B. H. Bishop on Viking. C. A. Anderson on a brown, B. Myers on Bowler. W. B. Llovd on a bav. E. Ward on Bine Boy. S. Whyto on Dolly, R. P. Neal on Nigger F. A. Price on Cupid. R. Rainrer on Myall King, the Hon. Mrs. E. J.' Blyth on Mack, Mrs. Woods on Master Bruce. Miss Adean on a black. Miss Brodie on Hector, Miss Lloyd on a black. Miss Mac Donald on Kelpie, Miss Sutherland on a brown, Miss R. Gorrie on Kineroa.
