THE TRAFFIC IN DRUGS.

INCREASING IN SYDNEY. DRASTIC MEASURES URGED. A, and N.Z. SYDNEY. April 20. The Sydney Daily Telegraph, in a special article urging the need of tightening the legislation against the sale of drugs, says that although it is denied by the pharmaceutical profession, the drug traffic is increasing in Sydney, and constitutes a menace to the health of the community. "There is little reason," says the Telegraph, "to doubt that such traffic exists in dark and secret places, and that there are many unfortunates in our midst whose lives are being blighted by it. Inquiries disclosed no great difficulty in obtaining doses of morphia and cocaine in certain quarters of the city."
