RACIAL TYPES ENDURE.
PREMIER'S OBSERVATION. NEW EDITION OF ANGLO-SAXONS [by TELEGRAPH.OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMPDEN. Friday. The Prime Minister is a shrewd observer, and at the Waianakurua school today he drew attention to a curious fact that had come under his notice. He was speaking of the ties that bound him to New Zealand, and happened .to mention his growing band of' little fair-haired, bright-eyed grandchildren. . Then his eye caught a group of similar children in the room. l . "Let me call your attention," he said, "to what is going on. Nine-tenths of these children are of the Anglo-Saxon typefair hair and blue eyes. I have visited 30 or 40 schools during the last few months, and the children are all just like your own." ■ ; %l The scientific explanation of this fact was something upon which Mr. Massey did not venture. /
