"MARSUPIAL TIGER."

QUEST IN QUEENSLAND. A hunt for a marsupial tiger has been made by Mr. R. Kendall in the Palmerville Ranges in Queensland. In a recent message to a Sydney paper, he said: — *' I have found the track of the marsupial animal for which I am seeking, near Cardwell. There is every indication of a speedy capture. It has actually been seen by the sergeant of police of Innisfail. There is an abundance of animal and bird life in the adjoining scrub, including tree kangaroos and bower birds. Interest in the hunt by the local people is keen. One carpet ■ snake 14ft. long has been taken alive."
