COURSE OF INSTRUCTION.

'An interesting course of instruction for territorial officers in the Northern Command was recently held at Waiwera-, Colonel H. R. Potter, officer commanding, supervising. Under him were LieutenantColonel J. Duigan, Lieutenant-Colonel I. $tandish, Major H.C. Glendinning, and Major C. Andrews, all staff corps officers. The party, consisting of 50 territorials and the officers named, went to Waiwera by the Lady Roberts, lectures being given on the trip. The daily routine included a march of six miles into the hills, where field practice was carried out. The party was divided into four groups, in each of which were a number of exservice officers, who gave the others the benefit of their war experiences. Lectures were given in the evening. The instruction*- -in -'- • tactics was' thoroughly carried out. On the last day a lecture was given on , demolition ■ work, with demonstrations.
